Our 3 Day Murchison Falls National park tour gives you a great time in the wild with great sights of the falls, animals and birds. The park is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Uganda. The park covers about 3,840km and is bisected by the famous Nile River that flows 115KM within the park boundaries. The park derives its name from the famous European Explorer, Sir Samuel Baker. It supports four of the big fives including Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards and Lions. The Rhinos used to also exist but faced extinction in 1983 but they have been re-introduced in the neighboring  Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The park is also endowed with over 450 species of birds, 72 mammals, 53 types of reptiles and migrant birds. Reptiles include Rock Pythons, Nile crocodiles, Monitor Lizards.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and travel to Murchison Falls national park.

After an early morning breakfast from your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe, our driver will pick you up at exactly 7:00am and brief you about the 3 day safari to Murchison Falls. You will go through Luweero and stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking where you will find both black and white Rhinos.

After the Rhino trekking, you will have another stop over at Masindi for lunch and then proceed to Murchison. This journey is not so long and gives you clear sights of the physical features and vegetation of Uganda. Take as many photos as you want during the journey and when in the park. drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Drive time: 5-6 hours.

Day 2: Morning game drive and a boat cruise along the Nile.

An early morning breakfast will make a perfect beginning of the day. The driver will you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 7:00 am. This drive gives you the opportunity to see very many animals including elephants, waterbucks, antelopes as well as birds. After the game drive, get back to the lodge, relax and have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise.

When on the boat, you will be able to spot various water animals such as crocodiles, hippos and various water birds. The boat cruise will take you at the bottom of Murchison Falls with spectacular views of the waterfalls. You can also decide to hike the top of the falls and later drive back to the lodge then have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Departure

Enjoy your breakfast and proceed for an early morning game drive. Here you will be able to spot many animals feeding on the morning grass and dew. Then embark on the journey to Kampala with a stopover at Masindi for lunch.
