4 DAYS UGANDA GORILLA  SAFARI

This short tour takes you to Kibale forest for chimp trekking and Bwindi Impenetrable national forest for gorilla trekking. Kibale forest is well known for its numerous numbers of chimpanzees that live here in their natural habitats. The chimps are visited throughout the year and one hour is given to visitors when with these primates.

Bwindi Impenetrable national park is located in South western Uganda and it harbors over 1000 of the endangered mountain gorillas. Therefore this park carries the largest number of these apes of which only 13 gorilla families are habituated and visitors trek them throughout the year.d

Day 1: Depart for Kibale Forest.

Day 2: Chimp trekking and transfer to Bwindi.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Depart for Kibale.

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kibale forest national park which is about 5-6 hours journey. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the country as you observe the tea and banana plantations as well as different people and local markets. Have lunch en route and the proceed to the park. check in your lodge and join in  the nature walk to Bigodi wetlands and view the numerous bird species and animals. Dinner and slumber at the lodge.

Accommodation: Kyaninga lodge/ Primate lodge/ kibale Forest Camp.

Meal plan: Full board.

Day 2: Chimp trekking and drive to Bwindi.

Have an early morning breakfast and join other trekkers at Kanyanchu for briefing and grouping. You will be grouped with not more than 6 people and given a game ranger and guard. The trek is not as difficult as Gorilla trekking because chimpanzees do not over relocate. After that, trek back to the lodge for lunch and drive off to Bwindi Impenetrable park. you will reach to this home of gorillas in the evening, relax, have dinner and overnight at your reserved lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking

After an early breakfast with a packed lunch, your driver will pick you up and drive to the park Headquarters for briefing and grouping. You will be grouped with about 8 people and with a game ranger and guard. The trek is a little tiresome depending on which section you are trekking and the movement of the gorillas. when with the apes, you will be required to spend strictly one hour with them and then get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Depart for Kampala.

After breakfast, you will be required to drive back to Kampala passing through Mbarara  for lunch and another stopover at the Equator for memorable photography and fun. You will reach Kampala late in the afternoon.
