The safari starts and ends in kampala and it includes a gorilla trekking permit and a chimp trekking permit. The gorilla and chimp trekking permits cost USD600.00 and USD150 .00 per person per trek. This tour takes you to two national parks ie, Kibale national park and Bwindi Impenetrable national park. these activities are so interesting and visitors are given one hour to observe the primates.

Bwindi Impenetrable national park was opened to tourists in 1993 with the Mubare gorilla family as the only habituated family in the park. currently, there are 13 habituated gorilla families in the park and the found in 4 sectors namely; Rushaga, Nkuringo, Buhoma and Ruhija sector. A maximum of 8 trekkers are allowed to visit a particular gorilla family for one hour under the guidance of an experienced tour guide. Therefore 104  gorilla trekking permits are available everyday but requires an early booking.

Kibale national park is found in the south western part of Uganda and it is a home to numerous numbers of chimpanzees. There are over 1500 chimps staying in their natural habitat in this park. A maximum of 6 people are allowed to visit  particular chimp members for one hour.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale national park.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: pickup from the Airport/Hotel.

Our experienced tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or Airport after an early morning breakfast. This 5-6 hour drive passes through the towns of Mityana, Mubende and Kyenjojo and then to Fort portal after where you will proceed to the selected lodge near or within Kibale National park.

After having a delicious lunch and some rest, you will be guided to Bigodi wetlands for an adventurous swamp walk. Here, you will able to identify different species of birds, wildlife and the community.

Day 2: chimp trekking and nature walk.

As early as 6:00 am, take your breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger. You will be grouped and be given a ranger guide who will lead a maximum of 6 people in to the forest for the trek. Once with these closest relatives to man, strictly one hour is given. The trek lasts for about 1-5 hours because the chimps do not over relocate like the gorillas.

Day 3: transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

The journey to Bwindi begins immediately after an early morning breakfast and passes through Queen Elizabeth national park as well as different plantations such as maize, cotton and sunflowers as well as different people. At Queen Elizabeth national park, you will come across different animals roaming on the road side such as elephants, Buffaloes, among others. Arrive to the park in the afternoon and enjoy a nature walk where you will see animals and various birds.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking

Have an early morning breakfast  and then set off to the park headquarters. You will be briefed and grouped in a group of not more than 8 people and then will be given to trek a certain gorilla family. The trek begins off at 8:00am and lasts from one hour to three quarters of the day. After a successful trek, you will be given a certificate for appreciating your participation in conserving the rare mountain gorillas. Drive back to your lodge for Dinner and overnight

Day 5: Transfer back to kampala or Entebbe

Have breakfast and after start your journey back to Kampala. This journey will lead you through Mbarara from where you will get your lunch and then proceed to the airport or to Kampala .
