 This exceptional safari package takes you to the land of a thousand hills known as Rwanda to explore its nature through visiting volcanoes national park for mountain Gorillas, Nyungwe forest National park for chimps and Akagera National park for game viewing and expect to see all the big five Animals and gain yourself a memorable experience of encountering wildlife face to face.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up from the airport.

You will be picked up by your driver guide from the airport upon your arrival and be transferred to the hotel in Kigali.

Accommodation: five to five hotel/ Kigali Serena hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National park.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be picked by your drive guide and embark on a scenic drive heading to Nyungwe forest national park with a stopover at Nyanza kings Palace and Butare national museum for cultural visit. Proceed and reach Nyungwe forest National Park.

Journey time 5-6 hours.

Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest National Park.

Have breakfast and then transfer to Kyamudongo forest and get briefed about dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking by ranger guides before embarking on chimp trekking. Start on the search for chimps and expect to see other primates like colobus monkey, on finding the chimps you will have one hour to be with them for photography as you enjoy them play. Have a relaxed lunch and go for a canopy walk to explore the diversity of this rainforest.

Day 4:  transfer to Lake Kivu for boat cruise.

Grab a cup of coffee and transfer to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu. Upon arrival, you will have a relaxed lunch while viewing the beauty of Lake Kivu and enjoying the fresh environment. An evening boat cruise with singing fishermen to spice up your day.

Day 5: boat cruise and proceed to volcanoes national park.

After breakfast have a boat cruise to the hot springs and then transfer to volcanoes national park. Arrive and have relaxation as you prepare for gorilla trekking for the next day.

Journey time: 1-2 hours.

Day 6: gorilla trekking.

 Wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters for briefing with packed lunch and all tracking gears. The briefing will help you know the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking and help you have a more fun gorilla ultimate experience. The trekking will take some time according to the movement of the gentle giants and on finding them you will have an hour to enjoy their life style. If time allows you will have a community walk in the Ibywachu village for cultural experience. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: golden monkey trekking.

After breakfast, proceed to park headquarters for briefing and then proceed to the forest for golden monkey trekking which you will enjoy how they play for an hour after finding them and then proceed to Kigali and prepare for the next day’s activities.

Accommodation: Serena hotel/ five to five hotel.

Day 8: transfer to Akagera national park.

In the morning we live the hotel and transfer to Akagera national park. Have an afternoon game drive and expect to see different wildlife species like buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, impalas, rhinos giving you a full package of the big five games in the only plain savannah in Rwanda.

Journey time: 2-3 hours.

Day 9: game drive and boat cruise.

Have an early game drive to the north of the park in order to encounter the early risers before they hide to this gives you high chances of spotting lions, antelopes, bushbucks among others.  Have lunch and go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema were you will expect to see hippos, crocodiles and some water birds.

Day 10: departure.

Check out ensuring that you have packed all your belongings and transfer to Kigali for a city tour and a visit to local markets as we end our 10 days safari in Rwanda. Drop off at your desired hotel or airport.
