This 7 days safari will take you to Volcanoes National park, golden monkey trekking, Kigali memorial Genocide. You will view wildlife, trek chimpanzees and gorilla trekking.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1, Arrival in Kigali.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be packed by our professional driver and drive you to your booked hotel. Dinner and slumber at the hotel (Hotel Gorillas).

Day 2, Kigali City tour.

After an early breakfast, prepare for an adventurous city tour in Kigali and explore Rwanda’s Memorial Genocide Centre which well exhibits the history of the genocide on videos shows, read some written accounts, sees a number of articrafts, sees photographs, read personal testimonies and exhibitions. Get back to the lodge for lunch and then set off for Volcanoes National park- home of gorillas.

Day 3 ,Gorilla Trekking.

Following an early morning breakfast and securing a packed lunch, you will drive to the park Headquarters for briefing and grouping. Parc national des Volcans is the best place to trek these shy primates (the Gorilla Beringei beringei) in Rwanda. The park is found on Rwanda’s border with DRC and Congo. There are 4 habituated gorilla families within the park including the Susa group(35 members), Sabinyo group(13 members), Amahura group(16 members). These gorilla families are visited by a maximum of 8 people per day hence availing 32 permits each day. You will move through the forest with a guide for between 0ne to eight hours depending on the location of the gorillas that day. One hour Is given to watch the gorillas and take their pictures. Trek back to the lodge for dinner and slumber. Accommodation: Kinigi Guest House/ La Palme. Meal plan: Full board. Day 4,Golden Monkey Trekking.

After breakfast, drive to Gisenyi to trek the Golden Monkey Trekking. Enjoy these primates as you take their pictures and drive back for lunch. Participate in the afternoon community walk to interact with the resident who may entertain you with cultural dances or you may observe the locals brewing beer from yellow bananas.

Day 5,Akagera- Nyungwe Forest National Park

Following breakfast, drive to Akagera National for a game drive. During this activity, you will see various animals such as several antelopes, zebras and giraffes. Later drive to Nyungwe Forest stopping in Kigali town for lunch. Nyungwe forest boasts many primates including chimps, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6,Nyungwe forest national park.

After breakfast, you will have a primate walk in search of the primates mentioned above. This activity takes the whole day so you need to carry your already packed lunch. The walk will be guided by an experienced game ranger who will show various bird species. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Rainforest Lodge.

Day 7,Departure.

Depending on your flight time, have an early morning breakfast and drive to catch your flight. Meal plan: Half board
