This safari mainly includes trekking chimpanzee in Nyungwe forest and gorilla trekking as well as visiting the Ibyiwacu cultural center, Genocide Memorial sites, the national Museum, the old town of Nyamirambo and many other historical places in Rwanda.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 ,Pick up and city tour.

Upon arrival, you will be picked by our driver and transferred to Kigali for a city tour. You will visit the national museum, presidential palace, the Kigali Genocide memorial centre among others. Dinner and slumber at your booked lodge. Accommodation: Kigali Serena hotel/ Frame tree village/Five to five hotel. Meal plan: Half board.

Day 2 ,Transfer to Nyungwe.

After your morning breakfast, you will be picked and driven to Nyungwe forest national park in the southern part of the country. This journey is quite long (6-7 hours) but it is so much enjoyable as you drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda and view the beautiful sceneries and plantations as well as different people. Your lunch will be en route and reach in the evening.

Day 3,Chimp trekking in Nyungwe forest.

Early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and set off for a chimpanzee trekking adventure. You will be taken to the park headquarters for briefing and then hike into the forest to trek the primates. You will also find other animals like elephants, colobus monkeys, as well different bird species. Drive for two hours to Kibuye city for lunch and a tour and then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4,Nyungwe- Volcanoes national park in Kinigi.

Following your breakfast, you will drive to Volcanoes national park in Kinigi via Gisenyi in Ruhengeri. You will have wonderful views of the tea plantations, neighbouring communities and beautiful sceneries reaching in the afternoon. Have lunch and prepare for a community walk in the afternoon. Dinner and slumber.

Day 5 ,Gorilla trekking.

Have your early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing and grouping. The hike begins off at 8:30 am and may last from one to eight hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. you will spend one hour when with the gorillas. enjoy seeing them play and feed as you take as many photographs of these shy apes as possible. Note: Make sure you carry your packed lunch and enough water as well as a water proof camera with flash. Trek back for dinner and slumber.

Day 6,Departure.

Wake up early, have breakfast and visit Dian Fossey’s tomb then drive back to Kigali for your flight. If you don’t have a flight on this day, you are advised to spend the night in Kigali or tour around the city for more adventures. Meal plan: Full board.
